MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--S. 963
Mr. MURPHY. Mr. President, I understand that there is a bill at the
desk, and I ask for its first reading.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. The clerk will read the bill by
title for the first time.
The legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (S. 963) to authorize dedicated domestic terrorism
offices within the Department of Homeland Security, the
Department of Justice, and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation to analyze and monitor domestic terrorist
activity and require the Federal Government to take steps to
prevent domestic terrorism, and for other purposes.
Mr. MURPHY. Mr. President, I now ask for a second reading, and in
order to place the bill on the calendar under the provisions of rule
XIV, I object to my own request.
The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection having been heard, the
bill will be receive a second reading on the next legislative day.
