ELECTING PATRICK J. LEAHY, A SENATOR FROM THE STATE OF VERMONT, TO BE
PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE OF THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES
Mr. SCHUMER. Madam President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate
proceed to the consideration of S. Res. 6, submitted earlier today.
The VICE PRESIDENT. The clerk will report the resolution by title.
The legislative clerk read as follows:
A resolution (S. Res. 6) to elect Patrick J. Leahy, a
Senator from the State of Vermont, to be President pro
tempore of the Senate of the United States.
There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the
resolution.
Mr. SCHUMER. Madam President, I ask unanimous consent that the
resolution be agreed to and that the motion to reconsider be considered
made and laid upon the table with no intervening action or debate.
