  SA 1728. Mrs. SHAHEEN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed 
by her to the bill S. 4049, to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 
2021 for military activities of the Department of Defense, for military 
construction, and for defense activities of the Department of Energy, 
to prescribe military personnel strengths for such fiscal year, and for 
other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the end of subtitle B of title XII, add the following:

     SEC. 12__. EXTENSION AND MODIFICATION OF THE AFGHAN SPECIAL 
                   IMMIGRANT VISA PROGRAM.

       Section 602(b)(3)(F) of the Afghan Allies Protection Act of 
     2009 (8 U.S.C. 1101 note) is amended--
       (1) in the heading, by striking ``2020'' and inserting 
     ``2021'';
       (2) in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking 
     ``22,500'' and inserting ``26,500'';
       (3) in clause (i), by striking ``December 31, 2021'' and 
     inserting ``December 31, 2022;''; and
       (4) in clause (ii), by striking ``December 31, 2021'' and 
     inserting ``December 31, 2022;''.
