CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF BONNIE DUVALL
(Mr. THOMPSON of Pennsylvania asked and was given permission to
address the House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. THOMPSON of Pennsylvania. Madam Speaker, I rise today to honor
the life of Ms. Bonnie McWhorter Duvall. Bonnie recently lost her
battle with cancer at just 61 years of age.
Bonnie was the matriarch of a strong farm family from Greensboro,
Georgia. She was a member of the Green County Farm Bureau Women's
Committee, a mother of four, and a wife to American Farm Bureau
Federation President Zippy Duvall.
Bonnie and Zippy spent more than 40 years together, and she enjoyed
traveling the country by his side to meet with many of our Nation's
farmers over the years.
Though it is a comfort to know that Bonnie is no longer suffering, it
is a great sadness that she was taken from her family and friends far
too soon.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Zippy and the rest of
the Duvall family at this difficult time. They are, and will continue
to be, in my prayers.
