REQUEST TO CONSIDER H.R. 962, BORN-ALIVE ABORTION SURVIVORS PROTECTION
ACT
Mr. FERGUSON. Madam Speaker, I ask unanimous consent that the
Committee on the Judiciary be discharged from further consideration of
H.R. 962, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, and ask for
its immediate consideration in the House.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Under guidelines consistently issued by
successive Speakers, as recorded in section 956 of the House Rules and
Manual, the Chair is constrained not to entertain the request unless it
has been cleared by the bipartisan floor and committee leaderships.
Mr. FERGUSON. Madam Speaker, if this unanimous consent cannot be
entertained at this time, I encourage the Speaker and the majority
leader to schedule immediate time for consideration of the Born-Alive
bill so that we can stand up and protect the sanctity of life.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentleman is not recognized for debate.
