                    CONFIRMATION OF MICHAEL B. EAST

  Mr. TILLIS. Mr. President, I want to congratulate Michael B. East on 
his confirmation to the position of United States Marshal for the 
Eastern District of North Carolina. Mr. East has served as a dedicated 
law enforcement officer for over 28 years in North Carolina. Mr. East 
is highly regarded and respected throughout North Carolina. I am 
grateful for Mr. East's service and continued service to our State and 
country. I know he will make an excellent addition to the United States 
Marshal Service, and I wish him the best of luck.
