SA 3305. Mr. HELLER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to
amendment SA 3224 proposed by Mr. Roberts (for himself and Ms.
Stabenow) to the bill H.R. 2, to provide for the reform and
continuation of agricultural and other programs of the Department of
Agriculture through fiscal year 2023, and for other purposes; which was
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
Beginning on page 360, strike line 23 and all that follows
through page 363, line 9, and insert the following:
(c) State Performance Indicators.--Section 16(d) of the
Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2025(d)) is
amended--
(1) by striking the subsection heading and inserting
``State Performance Indicators.--'';
(2) in paragraph (1)(B)(ii), by striking ``paragraph (3)''
and inserting ``paragraph (4)'';
(3) in paragraph (2)--
(A) in the paragraph heading, by striking ``and
thereafter'' and inserting ``through 2017'';
(B) in subparagraph (A), in the matter preceding clause
(i), by striking ``fiscal year 2005 and each fiscal year
thereafter'' and inserting ``each of fiscal years 2005
through 2017''; and
(C) in subparagraph (B)--
(i) in the matter preceding clause (i), by striking
``fiscal year 2005 and each fiscal year thereafter'' and
inserting ``each of fiscal years 2005 through 2017''; and
(ii) in clause (ii), by striking ``paragraph (3)'' and
inserting ``paragraph (4)'';
(4) by redesignating paragraphs (3) through (5) as
paragraphs (4) through (6), respectively; and
(5) by inserting after paragraph (2) the following:
``(3) Fiscal year 2018 and thereafter.--With respect to
fiscal year 2018 and each fiscal year thereafter, the
Secretary shall establish, by regulation, performance
criteria relating to--
``(A) actions taken to correct errors, reduce rates of
error, and improve eligibility determinations; and
``(B) other indicators of effective administration
determined by the Secretary.''.
