  SA 2396. Mr. HELLER submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to 
amendment SA 2282 submitted by Mr. Inhofe (for himself and Mr. McCain) 
and intended to be proposed to the bill H.R. 5515, to authorize 
appropriations for fiscal year 2019 for military activities of the 
Department of Defense, for military construction, and for defense 
activities of the Department of Energy, to prescribe military personnel 
strengths for such fiscal year, and for other purposes; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       At the end of subtitle C of title V, add the following:

     SEC. 537. IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN LEAVE FOR MEMBERS OF THE 
                   ARMED FORCES IN CONNECTION WITH CHILDBIRTH.

       (a) In General.--Subsection (i) of section 701 of title 10, 
     United States Code, is amended--
       (1) by striking paragraph (5); and
       (2) by redesignating paragraphs (6) through (10) as 
     paragraphs (5) through (9), respectively.
       (b) Conforming Amendments.--Subsection (j)(4) of such 
     section is amended--
       (1) by striking ``paragraphs (6) through (10)'' and 
     inserting ``paragraphs (5) through (9)''; and
       (2) by striking ``paragraph (9)(B)'' and inserting 
     ``paragraph (8)(B)''.
