             RESIGNATION FROM THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

  The SPEAKER pro tempore laid before the House the following 
resignation from the House of Representatives:

     Hon. Paul D. Ryan,
     Speaker, House of Representatives,
     Washington, DC.
       Dear Mr. Speaker: I have notified Oklahoma Governor Mary 
     Fallin that I will resign my office as the Representative of 
     Oklahoma's 1st Congressional District effective as of 10:30 
     a.m. today, Monday April 23, 2018.
       As you know, on April 19th, the Senate confirmed my 
     nomination to serve as Administrator of the National 
     Aeronautics and Space Administration. It has been a great 
     honor to represent the people of Oklahoma's 1st District in 
     the 113th, 114th, and 115th Congresses.
       NASA's leadership team and 17,000 employees comprise a 
     scientific and engineering resource unique in the world. They 
     will enable America to secure its future as the world's 
     preeminent space-faring nation, advancing a new era in space 
     exploration and expanding understanding of our home planet.
       As NASA Administrator, I will look forward to working with 
     you, and with all members of the House and the Senate, to 
     ensure that the United States realizes its full potential as 
     the world's leader in space.

     1st District in the 113th, 114th, and 115th Congresses.
