AUTHORIZING THE NATIONAL LIBRARY SERVICE FOR THE BLIND AND PHYSICALLY
HANDICAPPED TO PROVIDE PLAYBACK EQUIPMENT
Mr. GRASSLEY. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate
proceed to the immediate consideration of S. 3207, introduced earlier
today.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the bill by title.
The legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (S. 3207) to authorize the National Library Service
for the Blind and Physically Handicapped to provide playback
equipment in all formats.
There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the bill.
Mr. GRASSLEY. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the bill be
read a third time and passed and the motion to reconsider be considered
made and laid upon the table with no intervening action or debate.

was read the third time, and passed, as follows:

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. AUTHORIZING THE NATIONAL LIBRARY SERVICE FOR THE
BLIND AND PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED TO PROVIDE
PLAYBACK EQUIPMENT IN ALL FORMATS.
The first sentence of the Act entitled ``An Act to provide
books for the adult blind'', approved March 3, 1931 (2 U.S.C.
135a), is amended by striking ``and for purchase,
maintenance, and replacement of reproducers for such sound-
reproduction recordings'' and inserting ``and for purchase,
maintenance, and replacement of reproducers for any such
forms''.
