HONORING BOBBY ROBERTS
(Mr. HILL asked and was given permission to address the House for 1
minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. HILL. Mr. Speaker, I rise in honor of the lifetime of civic
contributions and the legacy of one of Arkansas' great leaders, Bobby
Roberts.
Bobby will be greatly missed after his retiring earlier this year
from a 27-year career of service to our library system, particularly in
his helping assure the growth of educational libraries and humanities
throughout our State.
In assuming the role of executive director of the Central Arkansas
Library System in 1989, Bobby helped take the system to new heights--
expanding from 6 libraries to a total of 14, including 9 branches in
the city of Little Rock.
Bobby Roberts has made our central Arkansas community better read,
better networked, and better led. I extend my best regards in this next
chapter of his life.
