  SA 3448. Mr. CARDIN (for himself and Mr. Cornyn) submitted an 
amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill S. 524, to 
authorize the Attorney General to award grants to address the national 
epidemics of prescription opioid abuse and heroin use; which was 
ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

       On page 39, line 5, strike ``opioids.'' and insert 
     ``opioids. Such activities may include supporting the 
     availability of medication assisted treatment and other 
     clinically appropriate services provided by treatment centers 
     that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide 
     immediate access to behavioral health treatment.''.
