MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--S. 2434
Mr. PERDUE. Mr. President, I understand that there is a bill at the
desk, and I ask for its first reading.
The PRESIDENT pro tempore. The clerk will read the bill by title for
the first time.
The senior assistant legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (S. 2434) to provide that any executive action that
infringes on the powers and duties of Congress under section
8 of article I of the Constitution of the United States or on
the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
has no force or effect, and to prohibit the use of funds for
certain purposes.
Mr. PERDUE. I now ask for a second reading and, in order to place the
bill on the calendar under the provisions of rule XIV, I object to my
own request.
The PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection is heard.
The bill will be read for the second time on the next legislative
day.
