WEAR RED WEDNESDAY
(Ms. WILSON of Florida asked and was given permission to address the
House for 1 minute.)
Ms. WILSON of Florida. Mr. Speaker, today is Wear Red Wednesday to
bring back our girls.
As millions here in America prepare for the holidays, we must think
of the Nigerians whose celebrations will be tempered by fear and
sorrow. Think of the Nigerian Christians fearful of fully celebrating
Christmas and attending their places of worship, haunted by the Boko
Haram Christmas Day church bombings of years past.
Think of the families that were devastated 611 days ago by the
kidnapping of the Chibok girls. For these families, Christmas is a
sobering reminder that their precious sisters and daughters are gone.
Please include these 219 girls and their families in your Christmas
prayers this year. Pray that next year they will enjoy a peaceful and
joyous Christmas together.
Please continue to tweet, tweet, tweet #bringbackourgirls. Tweet,
tweet, tweet #joinrepwilson.
