minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. LANGEVIN. Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to join my good friend and
colleague, Mr. Thompson of Pennsylvania, in recognition of Career and
Technical Education Month. As cochairs of the Congressional CTE Caucus,
we are absolutely committed to ensuring that every student has the
ability to achieve his or her career goals.
Mr. Speaker, it is long past time to reauthorize the Carl D. Perkins
Career and Technical Education Act. I certainly look forward to working
with all my colleagues on this important legislation.
This year the CTE Caucus will also focus on expanding apprenticeships
and employer-educator partnerships, as well as helping school
counselors to provide students the information necessary to make
informed career decisions.
To that end, I encourage all of my colleagues to join us on the
Congressional CTE Caucus and also to cosponsor the bipartisan
Counseling for Career Choice Act that we will introduce later this
month that will ensure that school counselors have all the job training
information that they need to understand in order to advise their
students about the good-paying jobs that will be available to them in
the future.
I want to thank, again, my good friend and colleague, Mr. Thompson
from Pennsylvania, for being such a strong partner on these issues.
