                       EXPRESSING MY APPRECIATION

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, it is really good to be back. I appreciate 
the kind remarks of the Republican leader. Senator McConnell and his 
lovely wife Elaine have been very good to Landra and me over the years. 
We appreciate their words of support.
  I want to express my appreciation to my colleagues who have been so 
kind and thoughtful during my recovery time. The Presiding Officer--I 
received your phone call. That was very warm. I very much appreciate 
it.
