MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--H.R. 3301
Mr. REID. I understand there is a bill at the desk and it is due for
its first reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the bill by title for the
first time.
The assistant bill clerk read as follows:
A bill (H.R. 3301) to require approval for the
construction, connection, operation, or maintenance of oil or
natural gas pipelines or electric transmission facilities at
the national boundary of the United States for the import or
export of oil, natural gas, or electricity to or from Canada
or Mexico, and for other purposes.
Mr. REID. I ask for a second reading, and in order to place the bill
on the calendar under the provisions of rule XIV, I object to my own
request.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard. The bill will be read the
second time on the next legislative day.
