                      ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION INVASION

(Mr. ROHRABACHER asked and was given permission to address the House
for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. ROHRABACHER. Mr. Speaker, our current immigration policies and
political rhetoric broadcast to people around the world that they can
come here illegally without consequence. In fact, if they do, they will
be rewarded for it. We send this message, and then we act surprised
when an illegal immigration invasion into our country skyrockets.
A growing crisis at our southern border sees tens of thousands of
children being abandoned at our doorstep. Their parents miscalculated.
They heard someone talk about the DREAM Act and thought their children
would be taken care of.
Ultimately, this crisis was brought on by Democrats and Republicans
who have advocated granting legal status to those people who are here
illegally, especially in terms of the so-called ``DREAMers.''
While most of those advocating such policies have good motives and
good hearts, they have unintentionally created a humanitarian and
bureaucratic crisis that our government is not equipped to handle.
I say we should send them home. The children and those who have come
here illegally need to be sent home, whether they are adults or
children.
