       ELECTING A MEMBER TO A STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE HOUSE OF 
                            REPRESENTATIVES

  Ms. FOXX. Mr. Speaker, by direction of the House Republican 
Conference, I send to the desk a privileged resolution and ask for its 
immediate consideration.
  The Clerk read the resolution, as follows:

                              H. Res. 589

       Resolved, That following named Member be, and is hereby, 
     elected to the following standing committee of the House of 
     Representatives:
       Committee on Financial Services: Mr. Messer.

  Ms. FOXX. (During the reading). Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent 
that the resolution be considered as read.
  The SPEAKER pro tempore. Is there objection to the request of the 
gentlewoman from North Carolina?
  There was no objection.
  The resolution was agreed to.
