                           POLITICAL SPENDING

  Mr. MURPHY. First, I associate myself with the remarks of the 
majority leader. I certainly understand the concerns of those on the 
Republican side about the individual who has proposed to spend a 
certain amount of money supporting the global warming cause, but it 
pales in comparison to the money that has already been spent by the 
Koch brothers, who have poured hundreds of millions of dollars and will 
continue to pour hundreds of millions of dollars into these races, 
completely dwarfing any amount of money that is spent on the other 
side.
