MEASURES PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--H.R. 3230 AND H.J. RES. 72

Mr. REID. Mr. President, there are two bills at the desk due for a
second reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the bills by title for a
second time.
The bill clerk read as follows:

A bill (H.R. 3230) making continuing appropriations during
a Government shutdown to provide pay and allowances to
members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces who
perform inactive-duty training during such period.
A joint resolution (H.J. Res. 72) making continuing
appropriations for veterans benefits for fiscal year 2014,
     and for other purposes.

Mr. REID. In order to place the bills on the calendar under the
provisions of rule XIV--I would like to do that--I object to any
further proceedings to both of these measures en bloc.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The objection having been heard, the bills
will be placed on the calendar.
