                                BENGHAZI

  (Mr. WOLF asked and was given permission to address the House for 1 
minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
  Mr. WOLF. Mr. Speaker, yesterday, FOX News reported that ``massive 
amounts of highly sensitive U.S. military equipment'' has been stolen 
in Libya by militia groups aligned with terrorists.
  These new developments, along with earlier reports that hundreds of 
surface-to-air missiles may have been stolen around the time of the 
Benghazi attack, beg the question: Just what has the U.S. been doing in 
Benghazi and around Libya over the last year?
  Today, the State Department inspector general issued a new report 
criticizing the Department for failing to take any meaningful steps to 
improve diplomatic security at high-risk posts, like the facility 
attacked in Benghazi, over the last year.
  That is why, Mr. Speaker, a select committee is needed now more than 
ever--not just to investigate the attack in Benghazi but also to answer 
the question about U.S. operations in Libya involving stolen weapons 
and arms transfers over the last year.
  One hundred and seventy-seven Members have cosponsored H. Res. 36 to 
create a select committee. Without a select committee, we are never 
going to know what happened in Benghazi.
