MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--H.R. 2218
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I understand there is a bill at the desk due
for its first reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator is correct.
The clerk will read the bill by title for the first time.
The bill clerk read as follows:
A bill (H.R. 2218) to amend subtitle D of the Solid Waste
Disposal Act to encourage recovery and beneficial use of coal
combustion residuals and establish requirements for the
proper management and disposal of coal combustion residuals
that are protective of human health and the environment.
Mr. REID. I now ask for a second reading and, in order to place the
bill on the calendar under rule XIV, I object to my own request.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection having been heard, the bill will be
read for the second time on the next legislative day.
