COMMEMORATING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AFRICAN UNITY
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate
proceed to the immediate consideration of Calendar No. 96, S. Res. 166.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the resolution by title.
The legislative clerk read as follows:
A resolution (S. 166) commemorating the 50th anniversary of
the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and
commending its successor, the African Union.
There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the
resolution.
Mr. REID. I further ask unanimous consent that the resolution be
agreed to, the preamble be agreed to, and the motions to reconsider be
considered made and laid upon the table, with no intervening action or
debate.
