                                SCHEDULE

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, following leader remarks the Senate will be 
in a period of morning business for 1 hour. The majority will control 
the first half, the Republicans the final half. Following morning 
business the Senate will resume consideration of S. 744, the 
immigration bill.


                           Order of Procedure

  I ask unanimous consent that the filing deadline for first-degree 
amendments to S. 744 be 12 p.m. today.
  The PRESIDENT pro tempore. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  Mr. REID. The filing deadline for all first-degree amendments both to 
the substitute amendment and the bill is today at noon.
  The Senate will recess from 12:30 to 2:15 for our weekly caucus 
meetings. Senators will be notified when votes are scheduled.
  I suggest the absence of a quorum.
  The PRESIDENT pro tempore. The clerk will call the roll.
  The legislative clerk proceeded to call the roll.
  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the order for 
the quorum call be rescinded.
