                    CELEBRATING NATIONAL NURSES WEEK

  (Mr. BERA of California asked and was given permission to address the 
House for 1 minute.)
  Mr. BERA of California. Mr. Speaker, this week we're celebrating 
National Nurses Week. As a doctor, and on behalf of physicians all 
across this Nation, I want to salute the over 3 million registered 
nurses for their service to our patients. The partnership between 
physicians and nurses is critical to ensuring America's health, and 
this partnership will become even more important as we move to contain 
the cost of health care.
  America's nurses will be key to making sure that every patient in 
America has access to affordable health care. So on this National 
Nurses Week, this doctor chooses to salute nurses everywhere for their 
service to America's patients. Thank you.
