                 MEASURE PLACED ON THE CALENDAR--S. 743

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I am told that S. 743 is due for a second 
reading.
  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. The clerk will read the title of 
the bill for the second time.
  The assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (S. 743) to restore States' sovereign rights to 
     enforce State and local sales and use tax laws, and for other 
     purposes.

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I would object to any further proceedings in 
regard to this bill.
  The ACTING PRESIDENT pro tempore. Objection having been heard, the 
bill will be placed on the calendar.
