Mr. HOYER. Mr. Speaker, I have a parliamentary inquiry.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. The gentleman will state it.
Mr. HOYER. Is it in order to request at this point in time a vote on
the Journal?
The SPEAKER pro tempore. The Journal has been approved.
Mr. HOYER. Mr. Speaker, I was seeking recognition to ask for a vote
on the Journal when you recognized me to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. The Chair recognized the gentleman to lead
the Pledge.

Mr. HOYER. I appreciate that, Mr. Speaker.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Does the gentleman have a unanimous-consent
request?
Mr. HOYER. I ask unanimous consent that I might now ask for a vote on
the Journal.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Is there objection to the request of the
gentleman from Maryland?
There was no objection.
Mr. HOYER. Mr. Speaker, pursuant to clause 1, rule I, I demand a vote
on agreeing to the Speaker's approval of the Journal.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. The question is on the Speaker's approval of
the Journal.
The question was taken; and the Speaker pro tempore announced that
the ayes appeared to have it.
Mr. HOYER. Mr. Speaker, on that I demand the yeas and nays.
The yeas and nays were ordered.
