              AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF ESCORT COMMITTEE

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent the Presiding 
Officer of the Senate be authorized to appoint a committee on the part 
of the Senate to join a like committee on the part of the House to 
escort President Obama into the House Chamber for the joint session to 
be held tonight at 9 p.m.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  The Chair appointed the Senator from Nevada, Mr. Reid; the Senator 
from Vermont, Mr. Leahy; the Senator from Illinois, Mr. Durbin; the 
Senator from New York, Mr. Schumer; the Senator from Washington, Mrs. 
Murray; the Senator from Colorado, Mr. Bennet; the Senator from 
Michigan, Ms. Stabenow; the Senator from Alaska, Mr. Begich; the 
Senator from Kentucky, Mr. McConnell; the Senator from Texas, Mr. 
Cornyn; the Senator from South Dakota, Mr. Thune; the Senator from 
Missouri, Mr. Blunt; the Senator from Wyoming, Mr. Barrasso; and the 
Senator from Kansas, Mr. Moran, as members of the escort committee.
