                   AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE ROTUNDA

  Mr. MENENDEZ. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate 
proceed to the consideration of S. Con. Res. 64 submitted earlier 
today.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the concurrent 
resolution by title.
  The assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       A concurrent resolution (S. Con. Res. 64) authorizing the 
     use of the rotunda of the Capitol for the lying in state of 
     the remains of the late Honorable Daniel K. Inouye.

  There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the 
concurrent resolution.
  Mr. MENENDEZ. I ask unanimous consent that the concurrent resolution 
be agreed to and the motion to reconsider be laid upon the table, with 
no intervening action or debate.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  The concurrent resolution (S. Con. Res. 64) was agreed to, as 
follows:

                            S. Con. Res. 64

       Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives 
     concurring), That in recognition of the long and 
     distinguished service rendered to the Nation by Daniel K. 
     Inouye, a Senator from the State of Hawaii and formerly a 
     Representative from that State, his remains be permitted to 
     lie in state in the rotunda of the Capitol on December 20, 
     2012, and the Architect of the Capitol, under the direction 
     of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the 
     President pro tempore of the Senate, shall take all necessary 
     steps for the accomplishment of that purpose.
