   ESTABLISHING THE DATE FOR THE COUNTING OF THE ELECTORAL VOTES FOR 
   PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT CAST BY THE ELECTORS IN DECEMBER 2012

  Mr. DENHAM. Mr. Speaker, I send to the desk a joint resolution and 
ask unanimous consent for its immediate consideration.
  The Clerk read the title of the joint resolution.
  The SPEAKER pro tempore. Is there objection to the request of the 
gentleman from California?
  There was no objection.
  The text of the joint resolution is as follows:

                             H.J. Res. 122

       Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
     United States of America in Congress assembled,

     SECTION 1. DATE FOR COUNTING 2012 ELECTORAL VOTES IN 
                   CONGRESS.

       The meeting of the Senate and House of Representatives to 
     be held in January 2013 pursuant to section 15 of title 3, 
     United States Code, to count the electoral votes for 
     President and Vice President cast by the electors in December 
     2012 shall be held on January 4, 2013 (rather than on the 
     date specified in the first sentence of that section).

  The joint resolution was ordered to be engrossed and read a third 
time, was read the third time, and passed, and a motion to reconsider 
was laid on the table.
