So (two-thirds being in the affirmative) the rules were suspended and
the bill was passed.
The result of the vote was announced as above recorded.
A motion to reconsider was laid on the table.
Personal Explanation
Mr. JOHNSON of Illinois. Mr. Speaker, I had obligations that
necessitated my attention in Champaign, Illinois and missed suspension
votes on S. 684, a bill to provide for the conveyance of certain
parcels of land to the town of Alta, Utah and S. 404, a bill to modify
a land grant patent issued by the Secretary of the Interior.
Had I been present, I would have voted ``yea'' on the above stated
bills.
