ORDERS FOR MAY 24, 2012
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that when the Senate
completes its business today, it adjourn until 9:30 a.m. tomorrow
morning; that following the prayer and the pledge, the Journal of
proceedings be approved to date, the morning hour be deemed to have
expired, and the time for the two leaders be reserved for their use
later in the day; that the Senate resume consideration of S. 3187, the
FDA user fees legislation, under the previous order.
Before the Chair rules, we will have up to 13 rollcall votes
tomorrow. Under the order, they will start at 2 p.m. There is no reason
we could not start the votes earlier. If we come in at 9:30, we can
start them early, as soon as debate stops. We cannot have any votes
during the couple of meetings Senators have to attend from 1 to 2
o'clock. But we should dispose of some of these amendments. Thirteen
votes on amendments will take a long time tomorrow. I hope that
everybody will try to move these up and that we can vote sooner.
The Chair can rule now.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
