NOMINATION OF JEROME H. POWELL TO BE A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS 
                     OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I now move to proceed to executive session 
to consider Calendar No. 647, Jerome H. Powell, of Maryland, to be a 
member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  The clerk will report the nomination.
  The bill clerk read the nomination of Jerome H. Powell, of Maryland, 
to be a

                             Cloture Motion

  Mr. REID. I send a cloture motion to the desk with respect to that 
nomination.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The cloture motion having been presented under 
rule XXII, the Chair directs the clerk to read the motion.

     hereby move to bring to a close debate on the nomination of
