MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--H.R. 5
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I understand there is a bill at the desk,
and I ask for its first reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the bill by title for the
first time.
The assistant legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (H.R. 5) to improve patient access to health care
services and provide improved medical care by reducing the
excessive burden the liability system places on the health
care delivery system.
Mr. REID. I now ask for a second reading, but I object to my own
request. The reason I am doing this is to place the bill on the
calendar under rule XIV.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard.
The bill will be read the second time on the next legislative day.
