                         NOMINATION DISCHARGED

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Homeland 
Security and Governmental Affairs Committee be discharged from further 
consideration of and the Senate proceed to the consideration of 
Presidential nomination 1311, Christy L. Romero, of Virginia, to be 
special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, which 
was reported out by the Banking Committee today; that the nomination be 
confirmed, the motion to reconsider be considered made and laid upon 
the table, there be no intervening action or debate; that no further 
motions be in order to the nomination; that any related statements be 
printed in the Record; that the President be immediately notified of 
the Senate's action and the Senate then resume legislative session.
