                               JOB GROWTH

(Ms. FOXX asked and was given permission to address the House for 1
minute.)
Ms. FOXX. Mr. Speaker, fostering job growth for the American people
continues to be the number one job for House Republicans. We certainly
don't know what the number one job is for President Obama, but it
doesn't seem to be creating jobs. He talks a good game, but when it
comes to delivering, he does nothing. He has refused to approve the
Keystone pipeline, which would immediately create 20,000 jobs, bring
down the price of gasoline for hardworking Americans, and ultimately
create hundreds of thousands of jobs.
You would think with unemployment above 8 percent for the past 35
months and the Obama economy continuing to produce the Nation's worst
jobless record since the Great Depression that we would see different
actions out of the President.
Last year, following the House Republican plan for America's job
creators, the House passed more than 30 bipartisan bills on behalf of
the American people. We outline them on this card. Each bill is aimed
at unleashing the power of our private sector to freely and confidently
build, invest, innovate, and expand again and put millions of Americans
back to work. The Keystone pipeline is one of those projects that
should be done.
Unfortunately, 27 of these bipartisan House-passed jobs bills are
being ignored or blocked in the Democrat-controlled Senate. The
American people are tired of waiting. It's time for the Democrats in
the Senate and the White House to put politics aside and pass these
jobs bills.
