LEGISLATIVE SESSION
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senate will resume legislation session.
The majority leader.
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Finance
Committee be authorized to meet today at 3 p.m.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Is there objection?
Mr. McCONNELL. I object.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard.
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I now ask unanimous consent that at 4 p.m.
on Tuesday, July 5, the Senate proceed to the consideration of Calendar
No. 88, S.J. Res 20, a joint resolution authorizing the limited use of
the U.S. Armed Forces in support of the NATO mission in Libya.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Is there objection?
Mr. JOHNSON of Wisconsin. Mr. President, reserving the right to
object, this is a very important issue. I understand a number of my
colleagues have worked very hard to bring this issue to the floor.
But the fact is, it simply does not address the fact that we are
bankrupting this Nation. I do object.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard.
