                  MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--S. 1022

  Mr. REID. I have been told that S. 1022 is due for its first reading.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the bill by title for 
the first time.
  The legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (S. 1022) to extend expiring provisions of the USA 
     PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 and the 
     Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 
     until December 31, 2014, and for other purposes.

  Mr. REID. I now ask for its second reading but object to my own 
request.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection having been heard, the bill will 
receive its second reading on the next legislative day.
