GOP SPENDING PLAN
(Ms. CHU asked and was given permission to address the House for 1
minute.)
Ms. CHU. So be it. That's what Republicans are saying to 700,000
American workers who will be needless casualties of their gutting and
slashing funding bill.
So be it. That's the Republican attitude to a government shutdown if
they don't force more cuts, destroying more jobs.
So be it. That's the Republican message to one out of every eleven
Americans struggling to find work.
The GOP continuing resolution does nothing to create jobs. In fact,
it takes a step backward, weakening our economic recovery. Of course, I
shouldn't be surprised. Over the last 8 weeks since the Republicans
took over control of the House, they haven't created a single job.
What's worse, they haven't even put a single jobs bill on the House
floor.

So while Republicans say so be it, I say stop the war on working
families and show me the jobs.
