MEASURE READ THE FIRST TIME--H.R. 1
Mr. REID. There is a bill at the desk. I ask for its first reading.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will read the title of the bill for
the first time.
The legislative clerk read as follows:
A bill (H.R. 1) making appropriations for the Department of
Defense and the other departments and agencies of the
Government for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2011, and
for other purposes.
Mr. REID. I now ask for a second reading in order to place the bill
on the calendar under the provisions of rule XIV, and I object to my
own request.
The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection having been heard, the bill will
receive the second reading on the next legislative day.
