          MEASURES READ THE FIRST TIME--S. 3762 AND H.R. 5827

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I am told there are two bills at the desk 
and I ask unanimous consent for their first reading en bloc.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the bills by title en 
bloc.
  The assistant legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (S. 3762) to reinstate funds to the Federal Land 
     Disposal Account.
       A bill (H.R. 5827) to amend title 11 of the United States 
     Code to include firearms in the types of property allowable 
     under the alternative provision for exempting property from 
     the estate.

  Mr. REID. I now ask for a second reading en bloc and object to my own 
request for both of them.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Objection is heard.
  The bills will be read for the second time on the next legislative 
day.
