 RECOGNIZING 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF UNITED STATES-JAPAN TREATY OF MUTUAL 
                        COOPERATION AND SECURITY

  The SPEAKER pro tempore (Mrs. Halvorson). The unfinished business is 
the question on suspending the rules and agreeing to the resolution (H. 
Res. 1464) recognizing the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the 
United States-Japan Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security and 
expressing appreciation to the Government of Japan and the Japanese 
people for enhancing peace, prosperity, and security in the Asia-
Pacific region.
  The Clerk read the title of the resolution.
  The SPEAKER pro tempore. The question is on the motion offered by the 
gentlewoman from California (Ms. Watson) that the House suspend the 
rules and agree to the resolution.
  The question was taken.
  The SPEAKER pro tempore. In the opinion of the Chair, two-thirds 
being in the affirmative, the ayes have it.
