               AUTHORIZATION TO APPOINT ESCORT COMMITTEE

  Mr. BAUCUS. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent the Presiding 
Officer of the Senate be authorized to appoint a committee on the part 
of the Senate to join with a like committee on the part of the House of 
Representatives to escort the President of the United States to the 
House Chamber for the joint session to be held at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 
January 27, 2010.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.
  Mr. BAUCUS. Mr. President, I suggest the absence of a quorum.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will call the roll.
  The assistant legislative clerk proceeded to call the roll.
