OUR VETERANS DESERVE BETTER THAN POLITICS

(Mr. PRICE of Georgia asked and was given permission to address the
House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. PRICE of Georgia. Madam Speaker, it used to be that there were
just some things you simply didn't play partisan games with: Our
military, our kids, and especially our veterans.
But not in this Congress. In this House of politics, no matter is
safe from political posturing and exploitation. From playing class
warfare with every proposal, to using children as political props,
politics has trumped policy from day one.
Now the new majority has sunk to a new low, holding our Nation's
proud veterans hostage. And for what, Madam Speaker? Pork.
Though the veterans spending bill passed this House months ago with
409 votes, the new majority has refused to allow the legislation to
move forward, and veterans demand action.
This is a clear demonstration of where the majority's priorities lie.
It's shameful and sad that the loony left in this House are willing to
exploit our veterans as a political tool so that they can get their
hands on ever more hard-earned American tax dollars.
Madam Speaker, bring up the veterans bill free from pork and free
from politics.
