PERSONAL EXPLANATION
Ms. MILLENDER-McDONALD. Mr. Speaker, on rollcall 80, my intent was to
vote ``yes'' on this, as opposed to ``nay'' on it.

Accordingly, the Committee rose; and the Speaker pro tempore (Mr.
Boozman) having assumed the chair, Mr. Bass, Acting Chairman of the
Committee of the Whole House on the

State of the Union, reported that that Committee, having had under
consideration the bill (H.R. 609) to amend and extend the Higher
Education Act of 1965, pursuant to House Resolution 742, he reported
the bill back to the House with an amendment adopted by the Committee
of the Whole.

ordered.
