PROGRAM
Mr. REID. Mr. President, we worked hard today. There were some good
debates. There are Senators who have a lot of amendments they say they
want to offer, and we need to move on those as quickly as we can. We
ask Senators to be aware of what is going on in the
[[Page S4337]]
Chamber and to be ready at any given time to come and offer their
amendments. The majority leader has indicated he wants this debate to
proceed on this bill in the form of amendments being offered, but I
think there will come a time when we are going to have to move on. I do
not know if that means he would have to file a motion to invoke
cloture, but I would assume so. So I hope Senators will realize they
have a finite amount of time to offer amendments and we should move
forward on these as quickly as possible because for people who wait for
a day that may be more convenient to them, that day may be too late.
