AMERICA IS NOT BIZARRO WORLD
(Mr. BARR of Georgia asked and was given permission to address the
House for 1 minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. BARR of Georgia. Mr. Speaker, recent events in Washington bring
to mind nothing so much perhaps as the Bizarro World into which the
comic book character Superman sometimes found himself, where everything
is the opposite of reality, where ``is'' does not mean ``is,'' perjury
does not mean telling a lie, and obstruction may not mean impeding or
interfering with justice.
Mr. Speaker, it is time we remind America that this is not the
Bizarro World. This is the United States of America where ``is'' means
``is,'' ``truth'' means ``truth,'' perjury means telling a lie, and no
man is above the law.
