                          CONGRATULATIONS UCLA

(Mr. WAXMAN asked and was given permission to address the House for 1
minute and to revise and extend his remarks.)
Mr. WAXMAN. Mr. Speaker, as an undergraduate and law school graduate
of UCLA, and as the Representative of the congressional district that
includes the UCLA campus, I rise to congratulate the Bruins on a great
victory on Monday night.
Coach John Wooden once said this to his players: ``Do not let what
you cannot do interfere with what you can do.'' The 1995 Bruins lived
that advice in the championship game. They did not let the injury to
Tyus Edney, who had played so brilliantly throughout the tournament,
keep them from their goal. Instead, they focused on what they could do,
and the O'Bannon brothers, Cameron Dollars Toby Bailey, and the other
Bruins raised their game. I congratulate them and Coach Jim Harrick for
their inspirational play.
I also want to take a moment to express appreciation to Coach Nolan
Richardson and his Arkansas players. They are great champions and
displayed tremendous determination and skill to reach the final game. I
hope Corliss Williamson and Scotty Thurman will return for their senior
years so that the Nation can be treated to a championship rematch next
year.
