    <main style="-uslm-dtd:legis-body"><foreign id="warning-d2218011e20" note="processing mode: unknown" role="passthroughContent"><compsdtd:account xmlns:compsdtd="http://schemas.gpo.gov/xml/comps-dtd" id="IDE7BC3966F0AA4CA1AB93FEAD92D9994A" commented="no" type="subsequent" in-effect="yes"><compsdtd:header bold="off" display-inline="yes-display-inline">DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.</compsdtd:header><compsdtd:omitted-text type="7" /></compsdtd:account></foreign><foreign id="warning-d2218011e24" note="processing mode: unknown" role="passthroughContent"><compsdtd:account xmlns:compsdtd="http://schemas.gpo.gov/xml/comps-dtd" id="IDF2AEE5E9B3294E8D8B69F25FFB987030" commented="no" type="subsequent" in-effect="yes"><compsdtd:header bold="off" display-inline="yes-display-inline">FOREST SERVICE.</compsdtd:header><compsdtd:omitted-text type="7" /><compsdtd:appropriations-para id="IDBC09EF247D0740FBA464B3D968BE4DFE" commented="no" type="subsequent" in-effect="yes"><compsdtd:text display-inline="yes-display-inline" cross-reference-style="no">That<compsdtd:footnote-ref idref="IDC3132F927C954AD7A89242304BE147A4">1</compsdtd:footnote-ref> hereafter, an additional ten per centum of all moneys received from the national forests during each fiscal year shall be available at the end thereof, to be expended by the Secretary of Agriculture for the construction and maintenance of roads and trails within the national forests in the States from which such proceeds are derived; but the Secretary of Agriculture may, whenever practicable, in the construction and maintenance of such roads, secure the cooperation or aid of the proper State of Territorial authorities in the furtherance of any system of highways of which such roads may be made a part; In sales of logs, ties, poles, posts, cordwood, pulpwood, and other forest products the amounts made available for schools and roads by this Act shall be based upon the stumpage value of the timber.</compsdtd:text></compsdtd:appropriations-para><compsdtd:footnote id="IDC3132F927C954AD7A89242304BE147A4"><compsdtd:superscript>1</compsdtd:superscript>
<compsdtd:para indent="1em" commented="no">A road maintenance fund was also established by section 6 of Public Law 88–657 (16 U.S.C. 537; commonly known as the Forest Roads and Trails Act). That section is found in item 17 of this set of forest-related compilations.</compsdtd:para>
